I am a PhD Candidate (ABD) in philosophy at the University of Calgary. From Sept 2017 to March 2018 I was also a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh.
When I’m not doing philosophy, I can be found reading novels, looking at art, taking photographs, playing the guitar, running, engrossed in politics and current events (so far as one can stand doing so these days), and hanging out in cafés; many of these alongside my brilliant and lovely fiancée, who declined to be linked to here — who would want to be publicly associated with a philosopher, after all? 😉 I also dabble in non-academic writing, such as creative fiction and non-fiction, and the occasional poem (they’re not very good poems, but I try anyway).
If you’d like to get in touch with me, please direct your email to bbeasley [at] ucalgary [dot] ca. I will welcome the distraction from whatever I am supposed to be working on.
Here are some other ways to find me online:
I am also a contributor to the philosophy blog A Philosopher’s Take.
